The document is done, bound, stowed, and now we leave the office.

Light

Couldn't sleep this a.m. so I came in early. My colleagues have agreed that we see light at the end of this tunnel. We should be wrapping up our project today and working not nearly so hard next week. Of course, this is just the draft document, so we'll likely be back at it with full intensity sometime soon.

This Sunday begins our Stephens training at church. Stephens Ministry is a program that trains laypeople to more effectively meet the needs of others in our congregation. We all hit rough patches in life. This program equips us to come alongside one another and assist in negotiating those difficult times. It's 50 hours of training, but I really think it will prove invaluable in knitting our community of faith together. It's so easy these days to be in the same place doing the same things with a group of people but to not really be a part. To, in fact, be apart. Way too easy to coast or to show up but not be engaged.
