They Don't Make 'em Like That Anymore

I'm being happily dragged into genealogy.

Just now, I waded through 100-year-old yellowed newspaper clipping that seem to indicate a Colbert male could run quickly enough to finish in the top three. Not in my lifetime, but as I unfolded the "Official Program of the Fifth Annual Tournament of the Southern Indiana Athletic and Oratorical Association to be held at Orleans, Indiana, May 27, 1904" it was in there. Colbert. Along with winning times recorded in ink. At that point, I said, "Well. It's in ink. It must be true."
