Who Says There Are No Second Chances?

Working a document today, I put in many of the changes we wrangled through in an all-day meeting yesterday. This was good. In fact, this was imperative. It could only have been better had I put the changes into the correct version of the document. Alas, in a fit of conviction based on exceedingly poor judgment, I opened the old file and made my changes there. Fortunately, I encountered a phrase I distinctly remembered removing during yesterday's meeting. Now I have archived the old versions and begun to make the same changes in the proper document. It would be a stretch to call this progress, given the time expended. But it would be remiss to discount the clarity of thought afforded by my inadvertent "practice" session. I'm making the changes more quickly now and I'm even improving the document more as I go.

Momma, I don't know if you wanted a doctor but I know you got an editor. And an optimist. Now I'm off to apply my experience and continue to make things better.
