The Percentages

If there was a 20 percent chance it would not rain today, we got at least 18 percent of it. A sprinkle in the afternoon and that was it. Not bad.

Dining today was not a healthy event. Waffle House breakfast, Lizard Thicket lunch (although it was a baked chicken salad), a birthday celebration at the office where we are working, and Chick-Fil-A for dinner. It may not sound as if I showed restraint, but you didn't see the peach cobbler that I did not have. That was restraint. I just sat there sucking on my biscuit and quietly whimpering until it was delivered to the proper table. Diets suck. Not as much as fat, but close.

Tonight for a pleasant diversion my friend and I took in a movie. Papparazzi. I'm still getting the knots out of my shoulders. I came out of there wanting to see Little Mermaid or something to balance the scales. The movie was well done and certainly held my attention, but to call it relaxing would be like calling sandpaper facial tissue. Not completely out of the realm of possibility, but hardly likely. Like an insistent song scrambling one's brains, Papparazzi begs for a calming chaser. I suppose that's why we're going back into the office tomorrow.

Good progress on our mission here today. We were finally able to smooth the connectivity kinks and begin work. We validated nearly 40 forms and made some linking and formatting changes to improve the quality of a couple of items. Honestly, the folks here have done the really hard work. But it's almost always useful to get fresh eyes on something just to be certain.

That's it for tonight. Sleep well. If you're famous, you can be nearly certain someone is watching.
