Mmmnnn, *yawn* what state are we in?

We drove through the night with two rules. The driver selects the music. When the driver cedes the right to select the music, the navigator selects the music. This pretty much ensured that Bob and Dave enjoyed the trip. Needless to say, it was a lousy time to be younger than 16. In fact, it was a lousy time to not be Bob or Dave.

We graced our companions with the rotation of the iPod--an eclectic mix to be certain, Alan Holdsworth, Bill Bruford, Fred Smith (not a keen name for a star, but a gifted musician nonetheless), Kansas, and we've barely scratched the surface. As nice as it is to be here, I'm looking forward to the drive home. And that does not often happen.

Unlike previous trips, there was little traffic around Springfield and we missed the rush hour in Jacksonville, so the timing was right. I can't tell you how much I miss Coby the BiPolar Puppy. Nobody barked last night and scrambled to catch his or her tail. We had a pretty good chorus of snorers in the back seat but nothing to compare with the WonderDog. It's good to be vacating.
