Oh, Just Melt!
If you've been visiting Bill Dugan's blog (www.billdugan.com) then you've seen my sentiments eloquently expressed in the graphic supplied by his lovely fiancee, Jen. Yup. That to winter, my friends. Enough is simply enough.
We drove separately to church this morning. When Joan and Katie arrived, I learned that I had nearly gone stag. Joan was spinning tires in the driveway and almost couldn't get out. Some call it laziness. Some call it economy of effort. But I'm a huge believer that God gives and takes away at His will. He gave us the ice. It must have some purpose. When that purpose is served, the ice will disappear. Now I don't want to be presumptuous with God, but when weather.com said we'd have temps in the 40's, I figured the work I hadn't done here was done. Not so, my friends and it's a fortunate thing we were in the House of the Lord when Joan told me she had nearly gotten stuck. Again. Yup. Killing is one of the Big Ten and I'm not talking about the NCAA Conference. Can't be doing that on holy ground, can we? So I'm here to tell you that just any old time God sees fit to melt this stuff is a little too late for me. C'mon Springtime!
