Presenting the Downlow
I got to play bass again today. I'd almost forgotten how enjoyable that is. The band at church consists of several very talented people. This morning I was fortunate enough to sit in with them and help keep the rhythm. With two services, there was a pretty good chance we'd get it right sooner or later. I felt pretty good about it. And for once, I didn't spend the rest of the day asking people who heard it if it was alright. I was dying to know, but I've admitted that if the answer is no, there is not a lot I can do about it.
This evening, we visited some friends and helped them get ready to have new wood floors installed in their home. The nice thing about wood floors is that they are attractive and friendly to asthmatics. The initial drawback is that they are very difficult to install in rooms filled with furniture. That's where we came in. That and helping to pull up what remained of the carpet and padding and tack strips. By the way, no matter how manly your grip is, I'm now a huge proponent of holding tack strips very loosely.
